This is no ordinary electro acoustic guitar by Ibanez. Featuring an AEL body in a stunning natural finish, this has a thinner depth to a standard acoustic guitar but is the largest of the Ibanez acoustic body profiles. The most remarkable aspect of this electro acoustic model is the unique fanned frets that sit atop of the neck. Fanned frets are an innovative design which will enhance the way you play guitar forever.
AEL BODY
With the creation of the AEL body type, Ibanez have consolidated size and sound projection to make the ideal guitar profile that will accomplish an exquisite range of tones. For any guitarist who wants to achieve an all-round wonderful acoustic output, this AEL electro acoustic model is a superb choice.
The guitar is constructed with a Sitka Spruce soundboard, rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. This beautiful blend of tonewoods work endlessly together to produce a full-voiced acoustic sound, whatever the genre.
FANNED FRETS
Ibanez have designed this AEL electro acoustic guitar with innovative, groundbreaking fanned frets. Generally, this means that there is a longer scale at the bass side combined with a shorter scale on the treble side of the guitar. The reasons behind creating this AEL Fanned Fret guitar were primarily to develop low string tone while also achieving the right balance in string tension.
The scale length goes from 635mm at the 1st string side to 680mm at the 6th string, and this enables the instrument to produce intonate highs and sonorous lows. Its unique multi-scale length means you can also experiment with a world of alternate tunings because of its impeccably equal balance in string tension.
IBANEZ PREAMP
The Ibanez AEL Fanned Fret electro acoustic guitar is equipped with the Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp system, thus enabling you to plug into an amp for a more resounding acoustic output through an amplifier thanks to the Fishman Sonicore pickup just beneath the bone saddle. The preamp has bass, treble and volume dials, as well as a convenient onboard tuner to guide you. Balanced XLR and 1/4 outputs allow you to plug into your desired amplifying device.
HARDWARE AND FINISH
The headstock is fitted with reliable Grover chrome die-cast tuners to a 1:18 gear ratio to boost tuning accuracy and precision, which works fantastically alongside the onboard tuner.
The bone nut and saddle combined with the exclusively shaped rosewood bridge ensure that a firm connection is held between the guitar and each individual string. Innovative Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins hold the strings in tact, and these pins are much easier to take out and put back in than a standard bridge pin when it's time to change your strings. These have a bulb-shaped end thus making it easier to grip, and once you put the pins back in they will keep each string in place securely.
The Ibanez AEL Fanned Frets Electro Acoustic Guitar is an absolutely sensational instrument which has unique features and a boutique feel but thankfully comes at an affordable price that any guitarist can take advantage of.
