Since its release in 1964, the Fender Mustang has been made famous by a whole range of brilliant musicians, from David Byrne of Talking Heads to Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. The new Fender Mustang released for hails from Fender's Offset series, including a set of modern, up-to-date appointments that make this guitar just as stage-ready as its predecessors.

BODY

The initial shape of the Mustang came about from a redesign project, where Fender overhauled some of their student models. The unique shape of the Mustang has attracted a plethora of famous guitarists over the years, and its short-scale body makes it feel so comfortable to play, even for the more enthusiastic performers. The solid body is constructed from alder and treated with a protective gloss polyester layer.

NECK

Firmly joined to the body is a maple neck which has a comfortable ""C"" profile. In a similar way to the body, Fender treat the neck with a satin polyurethane finish to add protection as well as to improve the overall feel. The neck is topped with a maple fingerboard with a 9.5 inch radius, providing a smooth playing surface beneath your fingertips. There are 22 medium jumbo frets to explore, helpfully adorned with black dot inlays to guide you with confidence.

SINGLE-COIL PICKUPS

Fender have kitted this model out with two MUSTANG single-coil pickups, set to an angle which enable both of the pickups to soak up every note and project with classic Fender style. Each pickup opens up a versatile range of tones, covering all frequencies with chiming harmonics, dense lows and those punchy mids, too.

The Mustang features Master Volume and Master Tone controls, plus a 3-way pickup toggle switch. The combination of a short-scale body with these Mustang Single-Coil pickups allows you to experiment with a fantastic range of cool Fender tones.

HARDWARE AND FINISH

For incredible, accurate tuning as well as enhanced resonance and sustain, Fender have equipped the body with the 6-saddle strings-through-body Strat hardtail bridge with bent steel saddles. The Fender headstock features Standard Cast / Sealed tuning machines for easy re-stringing and tuning of your guitar.

The stunning finish of the body is completed with a 4-ply aged white pearloid pickguard for added protection against scratches. The Fender Mustang with a Maple Neck still remains an absolute classic, and with its modern upgrades opens up an even bigger world of sound.
