When Fender's luthiers began work on a new guitar, pine was often used to craft the mock-up version. With the 2017 Limited Edition American Vintage '59 Stratocaster, pine has been purposely selected to design the body. As each model has been meticulously hand-made, each guitar will feature blemishes in the wood which merely add to the beautiful character of the instrument.

Body

The Fender Strat is often recognised quite easily by its shape which includes a double cutaway. As mentioned, the body has been constructed entirely from pine, just like an original prototype would have been. Fender indicate that the pine came from Buckstaff Furniture Company and was then reclaimed, cooked and adapted to build these very guitars. Each one has a unique appearance, giving it a genuine Limited Edition feel.

Neck

A figured maple neck feels ultimately comfortable in the hand and it has been given a hand-rubbed oil finish for effortless movement. Topping the ""D"" profile neck is a 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard which is versatile enough to promote solos, bends and complex chord patterns for a wide range of genres. The fingerboard is decorated with black dot inlays to guide you with confidence.

American Vintage Sound

Fender have selected a powerful trio of American Vintage '59 Single-Coil Strat pickups to deliver classic tones. These single-coil pickups ensure total sound clarity while they work perfectly alongside the tonewoods to cover all kinds of musical styles. The tone is both vintage and refreshing, enabling guitarists to experiment with a broad spectrum of tones. A Master Volume and two-one control work alongside the 5-position blade so you can shape your sound to suit your playing needs.

Hardware

Fender have chosen a 6-saddle American Vintage synchronised tremolo bridge with pop-in arm to faciliate those classic wavering tones with plenty of sustain. The traditional Strat headstock is fitted with Vintage-Style tuning machines for precise retuning of each string as and when you need it.

The beautiful Pine appearance of the body is complete with nickel/chrome hardware, and aged white control knobs which are positioned at the bottom of the 1-ply black anodised aluminium pickguard. Fender include a hardshell case with each Limited Edition American Vintage 59 Pine Strat for dependable protection.
