Fender have developed the brand new American Pro series after relentlessly testing out new and improved features, and this includes the American Pro Jazz Bass V 5-string bass guitar.

Body

Fender have employed alder to construct the body of the 2017 American Pro Jazz Bass V, a tonewood which has proved to be a firm favourite in many of Fender's best guitars. It has a lightweight feel that facilitates playability, while its offset double cutaway style body provides full access to every register on the neck.

Fast Neck

A smooth maple neck is firmly joined to the alder body of the Jazz Bass, and is shaped to a ""Slim C"" profile which feels just effortless in the hand, making it even easier to play fast riffs. The neck is more stable than ever thanks to a Posiflex graphite support rod which runs through the entire 34 inch length of the neck to prevent warping.

A 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard tops the neck which provides an incredibly comfortable playing surface beneath the fingertips. Black dot inlays are used to decorate a selection of the 20 narrow-tall frets as a handy guide.

Jazz Bass Pickups

The beautifully versatile range of tones made available to you in this American Pro model comes courtesy of the brand new V-Mod Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups. These incredibly articulate single-coils have been expertly crafted by the legendary Michael Bump, bringing this Jazz Bass right up to date to cover a wider range of genres.

The American Pro Jazz Bass V has a simple control interface which consists of two Volume controls to tweak each individual pickup, plus a Master Tone control to bring everything into balance. The vintage-style black plastic Jazz Bass control knobs complement every finish.

Hardware

Fender have worked tirelessly to find improvements to boost their hardware. The American Pro Jazz Bass V has been kitted out with redesigned Fender Lightweight Vintage-Style tuning keys at the headstock, each with its own tapered shaft. This progressive feature creates the perfect break angle over the bone nut, boosting sustain and intonation without loosening the strings or causing them to fall out of tune.

The new tuners work together with the 5-String High Mass Vintage bridge and bone nut to produce unsurpassed sustain with great tuning accuracy.
