When it comes to ensuring high quality sound and playability, Fender never stop trying to achieve this on an even bigger scale. Nothing can ever be too good, which is why for so many years Fender have pushed even harder to design and develop better products. The American Professional Jazz Bass draws on years of expertise combined with new and updated appointments to attract many a modern player.
Body
For the body of the American Pro Jazz Bass, Fender have chosen alder, a rich tonewood which has a versatile sonic range and a comfortable, lightweight feel. Alder gives the bass guitar a greater high-end tone with total clarity that can cover a wide range of musical genres. The Jazz Bass has a double cutaway body shape which is slightly offset, a customary feature which enables full access to every register of the neck.
Neck
The American Professional Jazz Bass is fitted with a maple neck with a 34-inch scale length. The neck is shaped to the incredibly fast ""Slim C"" profile, making riffing feel effortless. The neck is given extra stability due to the Posiflex graphite rod which works to prevent warping.
Aboard the neck is a 9.5-inch radius maple fingerboard decorated with black dot inlays. This hosts 22 narrow-tall frets which feel comfortable and spacious.
Jazz Bass Pickups
A new pair of powerful V-Mod Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups are fitted to the American Professional Jazz Bass guitar, expertly designed by the legendary Michael Bump using various alnico magnets. The pickups sit in the neck and bridge positions, collaborating to produce well-balanced, rounded tones. Thanks to Bump's expert pickup design, this Jazz Bass is not just for jazz music, but is versatile enough to cover anything from funk, rock and disco too.
Each pickup has an individual volume control, while a Master Tone control allows for precise tonal amendments to be administered with ease. Fender have used vintage style black plastic Jazz Bass control knobs to complement each body finish.
Hardware
The American Professional Jazz Bass sees the introduction of some brand-new hardware appointments for improved playability. The headstock is fitted with redesigned Fender Lightweight Vintage-Style tuning keys, which use a tapered, fluted shaft. This design provides the perfect break angle over the nut without loosening any of the strings.
Working in conjunction with the tuners are the bone nut and 4-saddle HiMass bridge, boosting sustain and maintaining string tuning with complete accuracy.
The American Professional Jazz Bass includes an Elite moulded case to protect, store and transport your new instrument wherever you go.
