Since its release in the early 1960s, the Jaguar still has that futuristic character when compared to its other Fender counterparts. The Jaguar's distinctive offset body frame is constructed using a fusion of wood, chrome and plastic that contribute to its unique style and sound. The American Professional Jaguar has been updated for modern players while maintaining its classic design aesthetic.

          Offset Body

A compelling feature of the Jaguar is definitely its body; with an offset-waist it has an off-kilter appearance which was incredibly peculiar at the time of its initial release. This unique shape has been carried forward in the American Professional Jaguar which is ergonomically designed for optimal comfort. The body is constructed from alder which gives it a lightweight feel, while a gloss polyurethane finish protects the paintwork.

          Redesigned Neck

The Jaguar has a shorter scale neck which is 24 inches in total. The neck is made from maple and for the American Professional model it has been redesigned to have the new, Modern ""Deep C"" profile which sits perfectly in the hand.

The neck is topped with a sumptuous 9.5 inch radius maple fingerboard. The fingerboard is home to 22 narrow-tall frets decorated with black dot inlays. Each fret provides ample space to execute sublime string bends and complex chord structures.

          Electronics

The American Professional Jaguar is decked out with an electrifying pair of new V-Mod Jaguar Single-Coil pickups, designed by the legendary Michael Frank. These single coils produce sizzling hot tones across all the frequencies to give you the most diverse Jaguar sound.

Fender have developed a new treble-bleed tone circuit which enhances the American Professional Jaguar immensely. By adjusting the Master Volume control you can now retain the Jaguar's high-end tones without compromising on clarity. A Master Tone control also features for more accurate sonic tweaks, while a 4-position pickup blade allows for alternating between various pickup combinations to explore its sonic palette. The Jaguar has always been known for its more futuristic controls, thus there is also a 2-position slide-switch at the upper bout of the body for in/out phase when both pickups are on.

          Hardware

In keeping with the tradition of upholding sustain and intonation, Fender have chosen a 9.5 inch radius Jazzmaster/Jaguar bridge with brass Mustang saddles at the lower bout of the body. This is joined by a vintage-style floating tremolo, a tremolo lock button and a screw-in tremolo arm. Even after heavy use of the whammy bar, you can rely on the bridge, bone nut and Fender standard cast/sealed staggered tuning machines to keep the strings all in tune.

A 3-ply pickguard, nickel/chrome hardware and skirted amp control knobs complement the the body. Fender also include a protective Elite molded case with the American Professional Jaguar, ideal for transportation and storage.
